Introducing Alex and Rebecca
Have you or a loved one ever been admitted to a hospital and wondered why there were no plant-based options on the menu? Have you ever been given a “nutrition shake” only to be given something with a long list of questionable ingredients? If you or someone you know has ever required tube feeds, have you been disappointed in the lack of more wholesome options? Hospitals are supposed to be a health-promoting place of recovery; yet all of these things tend to keep people sick. (reword but it’s a start)
One Topic
We are Alexandra and Rebecca, two clinical Registered Dietitians who have a passion for plant-based nutrition. We both went into the field motivated to help people in acute care, and have tried to improve the system (or elicit positive change, etc) from within; but after being faced with many systemic barriers, we decided to take our robust clinical expertise to private practice, and EarthSoul Nutrition Therapy PLLC was established.
We each have many years of hospital experience, both hold Master of Science degrees, are licensed to practice in Maine and New Hampshire (and any state that does not require licensure), and are Certified Nutrition Support Clinicians (CNSC). The CNSC certification demonstrates advanced proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition support (tube feeds and TPNs, or IV nutrition). Rebecca’s CSP-CC credential means that she is board certified in pediatric critical care nutrition, with many years of experience being a NICU dietitian. Alexandra holds the CSP credential, meaning board certified in pediatric nutrition, with experience in pediatrics and pediatric critical care. See the about us page to learn more about us, and for more on our career experience.
At EarthSoul Nutrition Therapy, we want to help you increase your intake of whole, plant foods. We have experience with many populations, both adult and pediatric, and are experts in nutrition support (tube feeding). Visit our services page for more details to see if we are a good fit for you. In addition to nutrition, it is also important to us to care for Earth, as Earth cares for us. If growing your own food is an option for you, we hope to help incorporate this into our nutrition counseling as well.
We would like to note that the concept of giving love to Earth and Earth giving love back to us in return, is not new. Indigenous folks have been practicing this for millennia, and the more we learn about their reciprocal relationship with Earth and the gifts she gives to us, we feel strongly that this important way of life be aligned with our work. We thank Indigenous people for sharing their knowledge with us and we will always continue listening, learning, and applying.
A plant-based diet is a powerful way to take charge of your health, reduce harm to animals, and give love and gratitude to our Mother Earth. Together, we can make the world a healthier and kinder planet.
Love the Earth, nourish the soul (larger font)
